Israel-Hezbollah War

On July 12th, Lebanese terrorists kidnapped two Israeli soldiers from an area near the Lebanon-Israel border. The terrorists were members of a group called Hezbollah, meaning “Party of God”. Israel retaliated with an attack on southern Lebanon.  On July 15th, the leader of Hezbollah declared an all-out war on Israel.

Israel and Hezbollah have been involved in conflicts since 1982. In that year, Israel sent its military into Lebanon, citing the attempted assassination of one of their ambassadors as the reason for invading. This military occupied areas near the border until the year 2000. Hezbollah was formed in 1982 as a reaction to the invasion. Since then, it has been fighting constantly with the occupying Israeli troops.                Contd

Kids too Wired?

Kids of all ages are using iPods, computers, Xbox, Playstation 2, Game Cube, cell phones and TV. This is good news for electronic companies, but is it really good for the consumers? Recent surveys say that most kids at age 4 use TV’s, at age 6 desktop computers and videogame systems, and around the age of 9 cell phones and portable digital media players. According to the NPD Group survey, about 41 percent of children between 4 and 14 years old have their own video game system. About 14 percent have their own cell phones, portable DVD players and desktop computers.                                  Contd
